Key Responsibilities For Bartender - Prepare and serve a full range of alcoholic and non‑alcoholic beverages in accordance with Chateau Lake Louise’s recipes, presentation standards, and responsible service policies. - Greet guests promptly, take orders accurately, and provide knowledgeable recommendations on cocktails, wines, beers, and specialty drinks. - Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar area, including glassware, garnishes, and equipment, and conduct regular inventory checks. - Process transactions using the point‑of‑sale (POS) system, handle cash and credit payments, and reconcile cash drawers at the end of each shift. - Monitor guest consumption to ensure compliance with Ontario’s Liquor Control Act, intervene when necessary, and complete required incident reports. - Collaborate with kitchen staff and servers to coordinate timing of drinks with food service, especially during high‑volume periods and private events. - Participate in weekly staff meetings, training sessions, and promotional events, contributing ideas for new drink menus and seasonal specials. - Uphold health, safety, and sanitation standards as outlined by the Ontario Ministry of Labour and local health authority. Required Qualifications - Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working as a bartender in a high‑traffic restaurant, hotel lounge, or resort setting. - Valid Ontario Liquor Licence (or eligibility to obtain one within 30 days of hire). - Completion of a recognized food‑service or hospitality certification program (e.g., Smart Serve, ServSafe). - Proven ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with the capacity to stand for extended periods. - Strong numeracy skills for accurate cash handling and POS operation. - Excellent verbal communication skills in English; French language ability is an asset. Desired Skills - Creative mixology skills with a portfolio of signature cocktails. - Knowledge of craft beers, Canadian wines, and emerging beverage trends. - Ability to upsell and suggest pairings that enhance the guest experience. - Experience with inventory management software and basic cost‑control techniques. - Strong teamwork orientation and the ability to remain calm under pressure. - Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and building repeat clientele.
