Key Responsibilities For Dispatcher  
- Coordinate daily dispatch of UPS delivery vehicles, ensuring optimal routing based on traffic patterns, delivery windows, and load capacity.  
- Monitor real‑time GPS and telematics data to track vehicle locations, intervene when delays occur, and communicate corrective actions to drivers.  
- Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, customers, and internal operations teams, providing timely updates on shipment status and addressing service exceptions.  
- Prepare and distribute shift schedules, manage shift changes, and maintain accurate records of driver hours in compliance with Canadian labour standards and collective agreements.  
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager and Safety Team to enforce compliance with provincial transportation regulations, vehicle inspection protocols, and UPS safety policies.  
- Generate daily performance reports, including on‑time delivery metrics, mileage, fuel consumption, and incident logs, and present findings to senior supervisors.  
- Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives, suggesting process enhancements that increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve driver satisfaction.
Required Qualifications  
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent; post‑secondary coursework in logistics, transportation, or business administration is an asset.  
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in dispatch, transportation coordination, or a related logistics role, preferably within a high‑volume, time‑sensitive environment.  
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence (Class G) and a clean driving record; a commercial licence (Class A/B) is advantageous but not mandatory.  
- Proficiency with dispatch software (e.g., UPS WorldShip, Descartes, or similar) and strong command of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.  
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; French language ability is considered a plus.  
- Demonstrated ability to work rotating shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, in accordance with UPS operational requirements.  
- Knowledge of the Highway Traffic Act, Hours of Service regulations, and other relevant provincial transportation legislation.

Compensation & Benefits  
- Competitive annual salary range: $45,000 – $55,000 CAD, dependent on experience and qualifications.
