Company Overview Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) is the federal agency responsible for administering tax laws for the Government of Canada and for most provinces and territories. The Windsor, Ontario office supports regional taxpayers, businesses and government partners, and plays a key role in modernizing the agency’s technology infrastructure to improve service delivery and data security. Key Responsibilities For IT Specialist - Provide day‑to‑day technical support for end‑users across the Windsor office, including troubleshooting hardware, software, network connectivity and access to CRA applications. - Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, printers, mobile devices and peripheral equipment in accordance with CRA security standards. - Manage user accounts, permissions and authentication mechanisms within Active Directory and Azure AD, ensuring compliance with the Treasury Board Secretariat policies. - Monitor and respond to incidents reported through the Service Desk, escalating complex issues to senior technical teams while maintaining accurate incident records. - Participate in the planning, testing and deployment of system upgrades, patches and security updates for operating systems and enterprise applications. - Assist with the implementation of cloud‑based services, including migration of workloads to Microsoft Azure and the integration of SaaS solutions used by CRA. - Conduct routine backups, disaster‑recovery testing and data integrity checks to safeguard critical tax‑related information. - Produce technical documentation, standard operating procedures and knowledge‑base articles for internal use. - Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including cybersecurity, network engineering and business analysts, to support project initiatives and continuous improvement efforts. - Provide training and guidance to staff on best practices for IT security, data protection and the proper use of CRA technology resources. Required Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in an IT support or systems administration role, preferably within a government or large‑scale public‑service environment. - Proven expertise with Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office 365, and common enterprise applications used by CRA. - Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Azure AD, and basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN). - Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy) and ITIL‑based incident management processes. - Ability to obtain and maintain a Reliability Status and a Secret security clearance as required by CRA. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; French language ability is an asset. - Demonstrated commitment to high standards of confidentiality, integrity and customer service. Desired Skills - Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or ITIL Foundation. - Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation of routine tasks. - Experience supporting cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure, and knowledge of SaaS integration. - Understanding of CRA‑specific security frameworks, including the Treasury Board Policy on IT Security. - Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast‑changing environment. - Strong problem‑solving aptitude and a proactive approach to continuous learning.
