Key Responsibilities For Quantity Surveyor As a Quantity Surveyor at Sir Robert McAlpine in Belfast, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial success of our construction projects. Your primary responsibilities will include: * Preparing and analysing tender documentation, including bills of quantities, specifications, and contract conditions. * Negotiating and agreeing on contracts with subcontractors and suppliers. * Managing and controlling project costs, including preparing and monitoring budgets, forecasting costs, and identifying potential cost-saving opportunities. * Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and contractual obligations. * Liaising with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination. * Preparing and submitting accurate and timely reports on project progress and financial performance. * Identifying and mitigating risks associated with project costs and schedules. Required Qualifications * Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field. * Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or working towards chartered status. * Minimum of 3 years of experience in a quantity surveying role within the construction industry. * Strong understanding of construction contracts, pricing, and cost control methodologies. * Excellent numerical and analytical skills. * Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Desired Skills * Experience working on large-scale construction projects. * Knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and other relevant software. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills. Compensation & Benefits Sir Robert McAlpine offers a competitive salary package for this role, with an annual salary range of £35,000 - £50,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
