Key Responsibilities For UI Designer As a UI Designer at the BBC in Brighton, you will play a crucial role in shaping the user experience of our digital products, including websites, mobile apps, and other online platforms. Your key responsibilities will include: • Designing intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces that align with the BBC's brand guidelines and meet the needs of our diverse audience • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and researchers, to ensure that design solutions meet business objectives and user needs • Developing and maintaining design systems, style guides, and pattern libraries to ensure consistency across our digital products • Conducting user research and testing to inform design decisions and validate design solutions • Creating prototypes and high-fidelity designs to communicate design concepts and solutions to stakeholders • Staying up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in UI design to continuously improve our digital products Required Qualifications To be considered for this role, you will need to have: • A strong portfolio that demonstrates your expertise in UI design, with a focus on user-centered design principles and human-computer interaction • A degree in a relevant field, such as graphic design, interaction design, or human-computer interaction • At least 3 years of experience in UI design, with a proven track record of delivering successful design projects • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels • Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and other industry-standard software Desired Skills In addition to the required qualifications, we are looking for candidates with: • Experience with design systems and style guides • Knowledge of front-end development principles and technologies, such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems, such as Git • Experience with user research and testing methods, including usability testing and A/B testing • A passion for staying up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, with a willingness to continuously learn and improve Compensation & Benefits We offer a competitive annual salary range of £45,000 to £65,000, depending on experience, as well as a range of benefits, including: • A generous pension scheme • 25 days' annual leave, plus bank holidays • Access to training and development opportunities • A range of discounts and offers on BBC products and services • The opportunity to work on high-profile projects and contribute to the BBC's mission to inform, educate, and entertain audiences across the UK and around the world How to Apply If you are a motivated and talented UI designer looking to join a world-class team, please submit your application, including your CV, cover letter, and portfolio, to our recruitment team.
