Key Responsibilities For Housekeeping Supervisor
The Housekeeping Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the housekeeping team to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation are maintained across the store. Key responsibilities will include:
    • Supervising and coordinating the work of the housekeeping team to ensure all areas of the store are cleaned to a high standard
    • Developing and implementing cleaning schedules and procedures to ensure efficient use of resources and effective cleaning practices
    • Conducting regular inspections to monitor standards and identify areas for improvement
    • Providing training and coaching to housekeeping staff to develop their skills and knowledge
    • Managing stock levels of cleaning supplies and equipment to ensure the team has the necessary resources to perform their duties
    • Collaborating with other departments to ensure a seamless customer experience
Required Qualifications
To be considered for the Housekeeping Supervisor role, applicants must have:
    • Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within a housekeeping or cleaning environment
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and lead a team
    • A strong understanding of health and safety procedures and the ability to implement these in the workplace
    • The ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of the business
    • A basic level of IT skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Office and other software applications
Desired Skills
In addition to the required qualifications, the following skills are desirable:
    • Experience of working in a retail or hospitality environment
    • Knowledge of cleaning practices and procedures, including the use of cleaning equipment and chemicals
    • A qualification in a relevant field, such as hospitality or facilities management
    • The ability to speak more than one language, to support communication with customers and colleagues
Compensation & Benefits
The John Lewis Partnership offers a competitive salary range of £25,000 to £30,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to the salary, the company offers a range of benefits, including:
