Key Responsibilities For Video Editor The successful candidate will be responsible for editing video content for a range of BBC programmes and platforms, including television, online, and social media. Key responsibilities will include: • Editing video footage to create high-quality, engaging content that meets the BBC's editorial standards • Working closely with producers and directors to understand their creative vision and bring it to life • Collaborating with other members of the post-production team, including sound designers and colourists, to ensure seamless delivery of final products • Staying up-to-date with the latest editing software and technologies, including Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere Pro • Meeting tight deadlines and working well under pressure to deliver high-quality content on time • Contributing to the development of new ideas and concepts for video content, and suggesting innovative ways to engage audiences Required Qualifications To be considered for this role, candidates must have: • A strong portfolio of video editing work, demonstrating a high level of technical skill and creative flair • A minimum of 2 years' experience in video editing, preferably in a fast-paced broadcast or online environment • Proficiency in editing software, including Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere Pro • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with producers, directors, and other stakeholders • A strong understanding of the BBC's editorial standards and a commitment to upholding them in all aspects of their work Desired Skills In addition to the required qualifications, the following skills are desirable: • Experience of working with a range of video formats, including 4K and HD • Knowledge of colour grading and audio mixing principles • Familiarity with motion graphics and animation software, such as After Effects • Experience of working in a live broadcast environment, or on high-pressure, fast-turnaround projects • A degree in a relevant field, such as film or television production, or a related discipline Compensation & Benefits The BBC offers a competitive salary range of £35,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience.
