Our team in Luton is currently seeking an experienced Roofer to join our site team, where you will play a key role in ensuring the timely and safe completion of our housing developments. Key Responsibilities For Roofer The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofs on our new build homes. This will include: • Installing roofing materials, such as tiles, slates, and felts, to ensure a watertight finish • Repairing and replacing damaged or defective roofing components • Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with Persimmon's health and safety policies and procedures • Working collaboratively with other site teams, including bricklayers, carpenters, and electricians, to achieve project deadlines • Maintaining a clean and tidy work environment, adhering to site rules and regulations • Participating in regular site meetings and contributing to discussions on safety, quality, and productivity Required Qualifications To be considered for this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: • NVQ Level 2 in Roofing or equivalent • CSCS card (blue skilled worker card) • A minimum of 2 years' experience in roofing, preferably in the housebuilding sector • A good understanding of roofing techniques, materials, and safety procedures • Ability to work at heights and in a fast-paced site environment Desired Skills While not essential, the following skills and qualifications would be advantageous: • NVQ Level 3 in Roofing or equivalent • Experience of working with a range of roofing materials and systems • Knowledge of relevant building regulations and industry standards • First aid at work certification • Ability to lead and supervise a small team of roofers Compensation & Benefits In return for your skills and experience, Persimmon offers a competitive annual salary range of £35,000 to £50,000, depending on your qualifications and experience.
