Key Responsibilities For Medical Secretary The Medical Secretary will play a vital role in supporting the healthcare team at Superdrug, providing administrative assistance to ensure the smooth operation of the clinic. The main responsibilities of the role will include: • Managing patient records and databases, ensuring confidentiality and data protection • Coordinating appointments, consultations, and medical procedures • Preparing and editing medical documents, reports, and correspondence • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of patient information, test results, and medical history • Providing exceptional customer service to patients, responding to queries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner • Collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure effective communication and patient care Required Qualifications To be considered for the Medical Secretary role at Superdrug, candidates must possess the following essential qualifications: • GCSEs in English and maths, or equivalent qualifications • Diploma or certificate in medical administration, or a related field • Previous experience working in a medical administration role, preferably in a healthcare setting • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook Desired Skills While not essential, the following skills and qualifications would be desirable for the Medical Secretary role: • Experience with electronic patient record systems and medical software • Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures • Familiarity with NHS guidelines and protocols • Basic life support and first aid training • Ability to speak multiple languages, reflecting the diversity of the local community Compensation & Benefits Superdrug is offering a competitive annual salary range of £18,000 to £22,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
