Key Responsibilities For Supply Chain Manager
As Supply Chain Manager at National Express in Nottingham, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our supply chain. You will be responsible for:
* Developing and implementing effective supply chain strategies to support the business objectives of National Express.
* Managing relationships with key suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services at competitive prices.
* Negotiating contracts and agreements with suppliers to optimise costs and ensure quality standards.
* Overseeing the procurement process, including tendering, evaluation, and selection of suppliers.
* Managing inventory levels to minimise stock holding costs and ensure availability of essential supplies.
* Implementing and monitoring supply chain performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
* Collaborating with internal stakeholders, including operations, finance, and engineering teams, to ensure alignment of supply chain activities with business needs.
* Identifying and mitigating risks within the supply chain, including potential disruptions and cost fluctuations.
* Keeping abreast of industry trends and best practices in supply chain management.
Required Qualifications
* A degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
* A minimum of 5 years of experience in a supply chain management role, preferably within the transport industry.
* Proven experience in negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Desired Skills
* Experience with ERP systems, such as SAP or Oracle.
* Knowledge of lean principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
* Experience in managing international supply chains.
* Membership of a professional body, such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply).
Compensation & Benefits
National Express offers a competitive salary package for this role, with an annual salary range of £50,000 - £60,000 depending on experience. In addition to a base salary, you will receive:
