Key Responsibilities For Carpenter The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a range of carpentry tasks on construction sites, including the installation of doors, windows, and other joinery items. Key responsibilities will include: • Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications to ensure accurate implementation of construction plans • Carrying out carpentry tasks, including measuring, cutting, and assembling materials • Installing doors, windows, and other joinery items to a high standard • Working collaboratively with other tradespeople, including electricians, plumbers, and bricklayers • Maintaining a safe and tidy working environment, adhering to Balfour Beatty's health and safety policies and procedures • Identifying and reporting any defects or issues with materials or equipment Required Qualifications To be considered for this role, candidates must have: • A recognised carpentry qualification, such as an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry and Joinery • A valid Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a carpentry role, preferably in a construction environment • A good understanding of health and safety procedures and protocols • The ability to work at heights and in confined spaces Desired Skills While not essential, the following skills and qualifications would be desirable: • Experience of working on large-scale construction projects • Knowledge of building regulations and standards • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans • Experience of working with a range of materials, including timber, steel, and plastics • A valid IPAF or PASMA certificate Compensation & Benefits The salary range for this role is £28,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience.
