Key Responsibilities For Train Driver As a Train Driver at National Express, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our trains, ensuring the well-being of our passengers and the smooth running of our services. Your key responsibilities will include: * Operating trains in accordance with all relevant safety regulations and procedures * Ensuring the safe embarkation and disembarkation of passengers * Monitoring train performance and reporting any faults or issues * Maintaining accurate records of train movements and passenger numbers * Providing excellent customer service to passengers, including answering queries and providing information * Participating in training and development activities to maintain and enhance your skills and knowledge Required Qualifications * Hold a valid UK driving licence * Possess a valid Passenger Carrying Vehicle (PCV) licence * Have a good understanding of railway signalling and operating procedures * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities * Excellent time management and organisational skills Desired Skills * Previous experience as a train driver or in a related role * Knowledge of National Express operating procedures and policies * Experience of working with safety management systems * First Aid qualification Compensation & Benefits We offer a competitive salary range of £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
